Digital operations help businesses make a breakthrough

Mr. Le Van Thanh, Chairman of the Board Members & CEO of Dong Luc Group, said that his business has had to transform its three-decade operation to make the new breakthroughs amid COVID-19.

For decades, Dong Luc Group has implemented online marketing strategy ineffectively, despite its potential production capacity and suppliers for raw materials. In addition, it cannot achieved its goal of becoming the leading online business in sports products in Vietnam, as its basic operation and management are still insufficient. “There is tremendous growth potential in Vietnam’s sport industry, but if we remain the existing management and sales strategies, it is difficult for us to make a breakthrough,” Thanh said.

Therefore, Dong Luc Group has cooperated with FPT to evaluate its corporate strategy and adopt state-of-the-art technologies, realizing its goals in management and sales.

The two parties have signed a series of contracts to provide technology services and solutions. Accordingly, FPT Information System, a member of FPT Corporation, will provide consultation, training and solutions, helping Dong Luc Group to digitize sales management and build a smart financial reporting software.

FPT digital transformation solutions, such as FPT SPro and DMS, are expected to help Dong Luc Group standardize and digitize hundreds of processes on a single platform, automating 50-90% of tasks; transform sales management by managing data based on geographic area, sales cycle, sales route, and detailed real-time sales reports.

We commits to offer specific products and solutions for Dong Luc Group, helping the company to transform sales management, optimize performance, expand market, win over COVID-19, and become a globally competitive corporation”.

Fighting against COVID-19

COVID-19 recently has a devastating impact on the global economy in general and the Vietnamese economy in particular. According to a report by the General Statistics Office, GDP in the first 6 months of 2020 is 1.81%. The annual growth target of 6.8% is seen as a big challenge, even an impossible goal in the context of widespread epidemics and the interruption of global supply chains.

In early July, the Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR) forecasted that Vietnam’s economy this year could grow from 2.2 to 3.8%. However, it could happen as the epidemic has not resurfaced. In light of COVID-19, many economists believe that the resilience of businesses will be lower and the number of dissolved businesses may increase in second half of the year.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, FPT Group’s chairman, said COVID-19 has had a lasting impact on Vietnam’s economy and consumption. During this period, businesses need to rethink their strategies, innovate the existing operation and management, and apply technology to increase efficiency and market expansion.

Sharing the same perspective, Ms. Ha Thi Thu Thanh, Chairman of Deloitte Vietnam Board of Members, said that sales is the top priority during the second wave of COVID-19.  When consumer behavior changes, businesses have to change their mindset and consider how much of products they should produce, who the target customer is, and how to sell the product. “The key is how to make more money by selling less. Businesses now should focus on key suppliers, rather than partnering with various ones,” she said.

On the positive side, COVID-19 was also an opportunity for the businesses to evaluate their system themselves, come up with lean strategies to save costs and time, and boost employee morale.

Mr. Nguyen Canh Hong, General Director of Eurowindow and Chairman of Red Star Entrepreneurs Club shared: “Businesses need to stay connected with each other to overcome hardships during COVID-19. Eurowindow has reached out to FPT to provide consultation to businesses in the fight against COVID-19”.

Sharing the same point of view, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, President of FPT Board of Directors, said that FPT is willing to share a set of FPT tech solutions with the Vietnamese business community and called for businesses to “unite” to overcome the crisis.
