New points of Vietnam Economic Forum 2019


Thematic exhibition “Energy technology towards sustainable development” within the framework of the event of Vietnam Economic Forum taking place in two days January 16-17, 2019, in Hanoi, there are more than 10 business representatives typically in the fields of energy efficiency and energy use or the application of IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (artificial intelligence) in the development of energy industry.

Vietnam Economic Forum in 2019 has more than 2,000 participants, with many representatives of departments, ministries, central and local levels, organizations, businesses and experts and prestigious scientists in the country and abroad to look back at the economy last year and discuss big economic issues and orient for the future.

In addition to a series of 3 important seminars and a high-level policy dialogue session, the Organizing Committee will carry out the thematic exhibition “Energy technology towards sustainable development” with 10 typical business representatives in the fields of coal power, electricity, wind power, solar power, smart power grid and efficient energy use or IoT application and AI in the development of energy industry.

FPT brought to the exhibition the virtual assistant product FPT.AI to help read newspapers automatically and Rogo – assistant to control indoor lighting devices to save energy. Chatbot reading newspapers automatically integrated into technology issue FPT TechInsight is built on the foundation of comprehensive artificial intelligence FPT.AI. This virtual assistant can help users search for news articles by voice, helping to improve the user experience. Not only that, but chatbot also has diverse voices for men and women, all the North – Central – South regions for readers to freely choose according to their preferences.

Rogo – the assistant to control IoT indoor lighting devices and built-in microphone with the ability to record from a distance. Virtual assistants receive information via voice and temperature sensors and humidity sensors from which they perform basic tasks such as turning the mode on and off; Thus, it can help you to save maximum power in your home, making life more intelligent and convenient. This problem has been implemented in FPT’s stores to reduce 20% to 40% of power consumption.

The Vietnam Economic Forum in 2019 will provide assessments and judgments about the current Vietnamese economy and prospects in the medium term, especially the opportunities, difficulties and challenges along with proposals to issue policies with scientific and practical values to serve as a basis for the Union Party, the National Assembly and the Government of Vietnam to consider in the process of perfecting institutions, leading and administering the fast and sustainable, creative and inclusive economic development.

The Vietnam Economic Forum is an annual event jointly organized by the Government and the Central Economic Committee since 2017. 2019 is the third time the Forum has been held. Through the first two Forums (June 2017) and the second (January 2018), the Vietnam Economic Forum is expanding in terms of scale, number of speakers and attendees and have upgraded the quality of discussion. In particular, in the overall session and high-level policy dialogue with the theme “Vietnam’s economy in 2018 and prospects for 2019 – reinforcing the foundation for rapid and sustainable growth” takes place on the afternoon of January 17th with the participation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Head of Central Economic Committee Nguyen Van Binh. In particular, Mr. John Kerry, former US Secretary of State, Honorary President of Carnegie International Peace Foundation, will attend the discussion.
