On 16th October 2019, among 4 national finalists, VIISA was announced to be granted the best accelerator in Vietnam award at Vietnam Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2019.
The ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards (Rice Bowl), organized by New Entrepreneurs Foundation, celebrates the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the Southeast Asian startup ecosystem. The Awards reward innovation, excellence, and best practice in startups across the region. It also recognizes the excitement, risk, and hard-work involved in developing a startup and the influence each person has on driving the success of their company. Rice Bowl puts the spotlight on model entrepreneurship and inspires a dynamic community of startup enthusiasts, serial entrepreneurs, policymakers and diverse mentors in tech innovation.
Vietnam Rice Bowl Startup Awards is the national leg of the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards. There will be a regional round next year. Startups will be on the following categories:

- Best Fintech Startup;
- Best Food Tech/Agri Tech Startup;
- Best Life Helper Startup;
- Best IoT Startup;
- Best AI/Machine Learning Startup.

- Investor of the Year.
- Startup of the Year;
- Founder of the Year;
- Best Newcomer.
VIISA was announced to be granted the best accelerator in Vietnam in the “Best Accelerator or Incubator Program” category at Vietnam Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2019. VIISA will be representing Vietnam in the regional round in Kuala Lumpur later in the year.
Startups who graduated from VIISA also got achievements. VDEs – VIISA Batch 5 graduate to win the best E-Commerce/Supply Chain startup. Meanwhiles, CyFeer, and Ella Study, VIISA’s portfolio companies, were nominated in the Best Life Helper, Founder of the Year and Startup of the year categories.
Established in January 2017 by FPT Ventures and Dragon Capital, VIISA is an acceleration program and seed-stage fund that invests to build global-ready startups from Vietnam. After 5 batches, there have been 28 graduates with some highlighted names such as WeFit, UrBox, WisePass, Base.vn, VDes… which have created more than 350 jobs and raised a total committed US$5 million from other investors.
